Hello from Wisconsin! The weather here is near freezing and winds are gusting to 40 mph. My hostas are still sleeping soundly, but I do want to get out in the gardens and mess about in the dirt. I have seedlings in the basement grow area, but it just isn't the same. Maybe it's the texture...maybe it's the worms...maybe it's the fresh air. The sound and feel of gardening outdoors is really a balm to my soul after a long winter indoors.
My gardens are growing every year (much more rapidly now with the purchase of a tractor and box blade last year.) I had minimal gardens until I retired and now I want to landscape much more of the ten wooded acres I'm on. I use mostly hostas, but am adding more companion plants each year. If any of you have ideas or suggestions for cold-hardy shade plants and shrubs, I'm open to advice.
See you around the forums!
