There She Blows!

Post by kHT »

Our Clemmie Etoile is putting on a show and a half this year. I watched her last year take over the sturdy trellis and knew this year I better find something else for her to climb on. Well at the last minute I took an older trellis away from the 2 passifloras as I couldn't find what I needed. As you can see she is taking over big time and the pood Dogwood is next.

This Clemmie grew in a wooden pot for several years until she broke this huge pot with her roots so we set her free and planted her in the ground. The guys got me a heavy duty trellis a couple of Mother's Days back and last year we curled her down wards after she out grew the trellis. She was easy to handle but a mess to cut back so we knew she needed more trellis to grow on. I'd use my wedding trellis but we don't know when we might need it. Everyone tells me I should move her but I like her where she is at and she sure does too. Besides to move her now, well it's not going to happen as I would have to redo that whole corner.
She has a huge hosta up under her and I'm sure not going to dig them up!

OMGOSH! That's simply gorgeous! Wish mine had longer summers to get that big!
