Seedlings from Rouge Cardinale - lavender and purple!

Post by GrannyNanny »

These are two of the only three seedlings I've ever been able to grow from Clematis seeds. (The third one went to a friend, and it died!) They are from Rouge Cardinale, but as you see, the flowers are larger, and one is deep purple while the other is a luminous lavender. They also bloom much longer than the RC does, and then bloom again later in the summer. I like them so well that I'm going to try layering and see if I can get some more started. Phyllis
