Here is the vine I posted about earlier on, in all its blooming glory. It is, as I've said before, one of only three Clematis seedlings I've ever managed to grow, and it's the one I want to layer to see if I can get more. Phyllis

Patience, schmatience -- The three that germinated did so within six weeks, under lights. If they'd gone much longer, I wouldn't have waited. I've tried other batches of seeds from other clematis, but they have not germinated fast enough for me to keep them. Three months is my limit -- then they're outta here! Phyllis

Phillys, did you give them cold time iin the fridge, or just put them in flats?

OED -- Don't remember, it's been so long since I did this. I doubt if I cold treated them, however -- I don't think I knew that much about seeds at that time. I think I just put them into flats, and hoped for the best. I did try some more clematis seeds last winter -- cold treatment and all -- but no dice! Phyllis
