Rouge Cardinale Seedling -- who'd a believed it???
a few years ago I tried growing clematis from seed that I'd collected from my own vines. Only three germinated; one I gave to a friend, and it proved to be a dark purple; the other two I kept. One is a dark purple (not visible on this shot) and the other is this luscious lavender with darker stripes down the petals. Now I guess I'd better give it a name -- any suggestions? Phyllis

I grew them under lights the first winter, and they've been outside ever since. I actually got three from that sowing -- these two, plus another dark purple that I gave to a friend. This one has been producing flowers since its second year, but this time it has really outdone itself.
Blue Bishop, huh? May be a good one. Any other suggestions??? Phyllis
