Here is my Duchess of Edinburgh. I haven't done any pruning since I first purchased her, but now she is all wood on the bottom and getting a bit tall for the the porch. She is nearly ready to bloom. How much should I prune and should I do it right after blooming is done? :hmm:

Second request for when and how much to prune this Clemmie. Here is a recent pic of one of the flowers, too.

Let me recommend this site, Deb has some great information on care. She is also whom I recommend when buying.

Thi si sthe BEST site I have ever found for clemmie info. Hopefully you can get the scoop here.

Clematis on the Web

She seems to be a group 2 (light prune), deadwood only in the spring. That said, to get her shorter and bushier, I woudl probably hack it down to about 2 - 3 feet next spring, but that is me.....

lazygardner, not our HG's Deb.

caliloo's site has some of the top growers!!

Hallson Gardens has the hosta gardeners where as GardenBuddies has the Clemmie growers, I recommend both sites
equally!! :D
