Can anyone identify this one?

Found this in the Botanical Garden in Amsterdam last week. Very unique, or I've not seen it before. Wondering if it will grow here.

Looks like a lotus. If you mean Amsterdam as in the Netherlands, and it is hardy there, it could be hardy in NC. If it is a tropical variety, though, better do your research first!

The round, upright leaves are lotus.

The huge, floating pads with the raise lip is a Victoria water lily. A native of the Amazon, so it does not tolerate cool weather. I grow it here in Iowa and it does well...it is an annual, though. According to the Victoria Adventure website, they grow it at:
