You can't tell from this angle, but this leans at about a 45 degree. It has fantastic fall color. I think the shape could lend itself to a Japanese garden with a little training from the start. Thier natural form can be quite interesting, hence the name "Stag horn". It will sucker all over, but my small gardens are easy to control "invaders"
