Wow! My lilacs are smelling up the whole house.
I have never had them bloom much at all and this year they went crazy. I've had them for about 7 years.

Beautiful! Lilacs respond well to dead heading. That helps put energy into next years flowers instead of seed production.
From the size of that shrub, you might just get it done in time for next year's bloom.
They also bloom on second year growth. If they are pruned to heavilly, they may bloom porely the next year.

Thanks Snow & OED. I am in shock at how the fragrance even flows to my front yard approx 300 feet away. They (2 shrub) really surprised me.
Hmmmm deadhead. I mean good gardening friend could I get to carefully dead head each single bloom.
I will try to deadhead a lot of them, but I might just use the loppers or electric trimmer. Hope that is good enough because I don't have a "house elf".
