Hibiscus paramutabilis X H. syriacus

Post by John »

Here, finally, is the first bloom on this hybrid. It is an odd form, I think, and does not seem to show paramutabilis genes? Pretty... or not? Each flower has those half-petals...

Pretty! The flowers look wavy to me also, correct? I always like unusual/different types of flowers. How exciting to see your baby finally flower! :D

Thanks, Dee! And yes, the flower petals are a bit wavy. I think they photograph prettier than they look-- sort of a glamour shot?

Not really crazy about the form, but, as a stand back and admire, it's a winner with the color combo!
