Curbside Shrub Rescue ID please

Someone was tossing this plant out, so I brought it home. Some kind of hibiscus, maybe? If you recognize it, is it hardy or tender?

That would be my guess too. I have one on my deck. Give it plenty of water and sunshine and it will bloom for you until the first frost. I bet you could overwinter indoors but have never tried as my kitty-cats would dig in it :???:

I'll "third" that, looks like a tropical hibiscus to me also. The edges on those petals lead me to think it must be a named hybrid, but no clue which. Easy to overwinter indoors, although will probably lose leaves and buds when moved inside, but will recover. Nice find!

Thanks, you three, that was my lst thought too, but was kind of hoping it might be something that could stay outdoors.
