Hi Cheryl

Our tree is about 15 ft tall, and it's 10+ years old. They grow fairly fast with a rather open habit.
This one gets about 8 hours of sun, planted in average soil, with normal drainage.
I watered it the first year, and that is about all the care it got, besides pruning for shape.
It will grow into a multi stemmed tree or shrub if you do not prune it to shape when it is young.
I went for the single trunk tree look, and if I could do it over I would go for the multi trunk look because of the open habit.

It seems to be a very easy tree to grow, and the bees, & butterflies seem to love the sweet smelling flowers.
We like the fragrance also for that matter.

Thanks Ed!
Sounds like a winner! I can remember the 7 sons name but will have to write down the "real name" as it is a doosy
Are they readily availiable??
It is really a stunning tree. I planted a small redbud this year and am crossing my fingers on that one. I got a single trunk and I wish I would have looked for a multi stemmed one of those also. It seems they are more graceful looking.

Thanks Stepanie, still trying to get over your daylily pic.

Cheryl, I know of at least 2 mail order companies that sell it.
I would do a google search and get it at the best price from any reliable seller.
I don't know if Hallson Gardens has it either.

If you or anyone else has problems finding it, e-mail me I will tell you the names of the nurseries privately.
