OC's 07 Flowering shrubs

Post by oldcoot »

Not sure if this is where this goes, but when OC went out to check on his early bloomers, he spotted this red berry on a Nandina bush. It really caught his attention.....

Also checked on his Azaleas and they are loaded with buds,
but no sign of a bloom yet.......Put out great foliage since last year.

OC loving what he is seeing. Thank you Lord for all your beauty...

Shrubs and trees are now in full bloom

Post by oldcoot »

Dogwoods, Azaleas, Spirea...Just everything. Hope to post as the week goes a long.

These are some dogwoods that grow along side OC's driveway. This is the first year in several years they have bloomed. For the past several years, the buds have burnt up in the fall and leaves never formed in the spring. Looks like dogwoods are blooming all around OC's yard.......

Enjoy the good Lord's pretty Dogwoods.......

Forsythia didn't do much this year

Post by oldcoot »

:-? :-? :-? And the freeze hit them right after OC took this picture. All the blooms on all the trees and shrubs are gone.

The next shows exactly why we snee3zed all spring. Have no idea what kind of tree this is. It is in the woods in camera range from OC's driveway. Only had time to take one picture and had back inside for he Benedryl. The price we pay for our pleasure......

This about flowering shrubs

Post by oldcoot »

It is about OC's trees. Right before Easter, all the trees in the back yard started putting out buds and foliage. Many trees had really nice small leaves on them. When the freeze hit, WHAM all the buds and all the leaves froze and dropped off. Right now there is not a tree with a leaf on it. Will they probably put out again or are they done for the season ? That would sure be a bummer because that would mean a horrendously hot summer for us. Those trees were our afternoon shade !! Another victim of the freeze......OC
