Hi, this is Annie on Muffys' computer :)
I just wanted to know is the Profusion Beautyberry hardy in zone 5?

Thanks! But where is "here"? :D What zone are you in? I'm in zone 5.

Lessa is in Canada, (presumably lessa's DH is there too!) harsher than our zone 5, I suppose. So I would expect it to do okay here.

Muffy, I have one here in northwestern Illinois. I've had it for years, and it does very well. It produces more berries and looks much neater if it's cut back every spring.
Last spring I forgot to do it, and didn't have nearly as many berries this fall. It seems to fruit most on the new branches.
When I got mine, it was listed as a zone 6 plant, but has had no problems at all here. I think I mulched it the first winter or two, but I don't anymore.
If you get one, plant it where it will get late-day sun to highlight the beautiful berries. There's nothing quite like the sight of a beautyberry in full friut with the autumn sun filtering through it.
