Grandson's engagement

Post by Linda P »

I've been trying to post a new topic about my grandson's engagement, with no luck. I was able to add a picture to Phyllis' thread, so I'm going to post this, then try posting a picture in a reply.
Jacob was one of those wunderkinds who graduated from high school at 16, went to a 2-year technical college, and has now been working for 4 years. He's 22. Lisa is a 4th year student at Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. They've been engaged for some time (since she graduated high school) but have just set their wedding date for May 5, 2014. They're great kids, and I love seeing the pictures that their highly talented photographer friend takes of them.

The pictures were taken on our farm and in the garden.

Thanks, Phyllis and Karma. The young lady who took them does the most wonderful photography, and she loves taking pictures of these two because they are so animated. They're great kids, too. They even come to visit Grandma and Grandpa together every time she's home from college. They love the farm, and Jacob proposed to her on a picnic out in the pasture. They wanted their engagement photos to be done here as well.

Tillykke :-)
Congratulations :-)

Looks like a very handsome couple and some of the pics are rather good.. she is very, very good at capture the emotion , but lack a bit of pic composition... the easy part :-)

Pia, the pictures I chose to share here were ones that included quite a bit of the farm and garden in the background. Most of her pictures are very well composed and she spends a great deal of time setting them up. The kids requested that she include a lot of the surroundings on many of the pictures. (They also look much better in a larger size.) Her photography is more inclined to art shots rather than portrait shots, and over the years I've know here I've seen some amazing shots that make me wonder how she did it.

Ohhh Linda, so sorry if I hurt you or your feelings in any way, it was never my intention!

I were so impressed by her skills to capture the feelings / the special it. It is difficult and most people,- me included - never learn how to capture the specials.

May have said it before, but I am more or less raised in a photo study and one of the things my dad played was giving me 8 or 16 pics of the same item, then I had to argue why I chose number 6 and not the other ones...
... Specially remember 8 pics of the same danm paper napkins on a black surface .. couldn't see a difference for lifetime

Hope you will accept my apologies

No apologies needed, Pia! You were right about these. I just wanted to explain why those pictures had so much background in them.
And she is very good at capturing emotion. All of her work has that special touch.
