I know it's Father's Day weekend but since we decided not to do both Mother's & Father's Day gifts we decided to work on this huge project. Here is the before photos.

Here is the next step, cleaning out the area and seeing just how many plants I may have to move! Keeping my toes crossed it's -0-!! It's coffee, lunch and nap time.

I give up. Whatizzit? :hmm:

Last month I planned a similar project. Three of my raised beds were lined with landscape timbers. I wanted to reconfigure the straight lines into curvey beds. How to move out all those big timbers?

Took the easy way out and placed an ad on Freecycle. A few days later a young man came and carefully retrieved all 40 timbers for his wife's garden. I happily watched as he dug them out, carted them to his truck and stacked them. :D

Mary Ann, that is the electrical box for the neighborhood and for years we have been riding this yard of landscape timblers. If you don't know the PNW is prone to Carpenter Ants, the ones that can do damage if they get into your home! A good reason to get rid of them all!!

Karma, all I could think of was treasure chest with that padlock on it. Would that be free extra land surrounding it? Not a bad trade-off.

Let's just say I'm not moving to fast!! I'd like to add another roll on our side and possible a small one in the front. Extra room for plants on the top, right?

I thought it was a bit strange to have a safe in the garden.

I like that treasure chest idea! Did you dry stack the bricks or mortar them?
Mary Ann, there are a few of those tanks here in Illinois, too! I know of one spot where the guy must have liked them so much, he created a small herd. He has them gathering in front of an old barn. I'm guessing they're a lot less work than the real thing, but you don't get any of that valuable dairy aire from them either.
Great project, karma!

Well after several emails and a quick sketch of what we would like to do which was simple just putting straps and a little gold in the corners, they are looking at our idea. I also told them if they could get some grant money I had several other ideas like a rose or even a box turtle. I would be willing to paint their boxes to brighten up the community some. We will see but at least we might get it repainted, green. :???: I tried. . . . . the family is still laughing at me.

LindaP, these are still dry stacked as we are trying to decide if we want to add more or not. Then we will just do the caps as we this is reall stable and not moving due to the interlocking on the bricks. These are from Home Depo and I like them enough I would like to do a whole raised corner area. The idea is starting to grow on DH whom wants a plan first.
