Garden Bench

Here is my first attempt at creating a little garden bench from Willow branches. Would have done things a little differently now that it is completed, but it was way fun just to construct it. Any suggestions?

It is very pretty. I like the feeling of movement the spray gives it. I would not change a thing.

Very interesting! especially the willow loops that give the impression of serving as arm-rests. Great fluidity. I'd love to see how you worked those loops into the legs (or maybe that's what you would do differently?)

Suggestions? be certain that the stems sticking out the top back aren't positioned so that a person could inadvertently be stuck by them!

I like it! My only suggestio/question would be are the the branches for the back sturdy enough for someone to really sit and lean back on them and hold?

That's beautiful! Will you grow clematis on it? Or use it for potted plants?

Thanks MR. I was thinking it would be better suited as a decorative piece and yes that was my intention when I put the thing together to have some type of vine grow up the back. Thanks again.

Very nice and I love the artsy design! Once you get it tucked into the garden with a vine or two twining up the legs and back, it will look right at home, like an old bench that became absorbed by the garden.

I've always wanted to try a willow chair or bench, but I don't have an eye for design, like you. Mine would be very plain....

Jane, hey give it a try, you might be surprised. There are a few books out there, the books by Bim Willow are good and easy to follow.

ahhhh...a decorative piece...then it is perfect as it is!! A vine will be beauitful growing on it...wish I could that too!

Clematis augustifolia? Although the plant might grow too big, but the tiny flowers shouldn't overwhelm the beauty of the bench?

Thanks for the suggestion lazygardener. I love the autumn clematis idea, I might just try an annual vine like cypress vine since I have some started in the basement, ready to plant. I'll let you know how it turns out.
