Finally (1 - lol)

Post by lessa's dh »

I've been playing around with a garden bed up against our garage for the past 3 years - finally got around to finishing it (mostly) - at least it looks A LOT better than it has since I started! The darn thing faces west so it gets great shade in the morning and then bakes all afternoon. The upside is that it warms up quickly in the spring with the brickwork acting as a heatsink holding the warmth until late in the evening.
Let me know what you think!

Looking nice Art! You guys have some great display gardens there at your place :D

And is that two ponds you put in there? Don't let Brian know that or he will be on me about one again ;)

:D Yup it is -- I had a small preformed given to me last year and it needed a home (picture Lynn rolling her eyes when she spotted it in there) - so I gave it one.
Tell Brian to behave - I have to dig another pond yet!!! :D :D :D

That is lovely! And you say it's a new garden? Looks like a lot of mature plants in there. :D

And Chris, I'm going to have to side with Brian on this one, if you don't already have at least one pond... :D

ummm .... I'm starting to work on my dry streambed ... I have the basic layout in place, it's partially dug out (and full of weeds) and I have a bridge crossing it .. just have to WEED it, lay down my landscape fabric and then put the rocks in ... would love to have it finished before August 8 when we are hosting the southwestern Ontario picnic for the Ontario Hosta Society ......... and I have to finish building a 20 x 23 foot deck before that too .........
