Reworking a bed

Post by lessa's dh »

Had this garden bed that was being seriously under-utilized. And after finishing the pool deck, I had all these paving stones not being used. And after some of the garden mapping has been done, we've found some seriously under-performing hostas. And we have a bunch of new hostas needing a home .... sooooo .... part one!!!

Ok - just finished planting and moving almost 50 hostas, ferns and orchids in these beds after moving out a couple of daylilies that seriously needed more sun! Now I have to rework the back half of these beds next spring. Filled one section (last 3 pictures with almost all of the OSIRIS Hostas available)

Part 2 - these beds should really start to show next year already - all of the moved hostas were mature but needed more growing space. In a couple of years they should be spectacular! Going to lay down a gravel path in the spring too - wish I had enough bricks to make a walkway but you never know what I can come across over the winter!

Looks like you're keeping busy! Good idea to put a resting spot right there in the middle of things.
And time remembered is grief forgotten,
And frosts are slain and flowers begotten.....
