This season's first orchid to bloom.

Use this area to talk about tender plants such as annuals, tropicals, and houseplants.

The first flower is fully open and the second (seen just behind it) is just a few days behind. This is my favourite orchid at the moment, but I have two I have never seen in flower.

Oh my goodness - that's lovely!!!

I am new to the orchid world. Bought one at the flower show last February and I haven't killed it yet (that's good for me with houseplants).
Do I need to do anything special to encourage it to bloom (fertilizer-wise)?

I feed them with orchid feed about once or twice a month and keep them in the living room on an easterly facing window sill with net curtains at the window.
