Umm... excellent germination on some Brugmansia or Datura? Unusual purple coloring? I'm probably missing something here...

John, these are albino babies from our crosses with Datura Missouri Marble and the Datura Missouri Marble Albino that appeared last year about 8" from the D. MM mother. These seeds are starting out like the Albino did when she appeared. We had several seedpods on the D. MM and only two on the albino.

Hmmm... am I really seeing purple on the seedling stems, or no? Are you saying the albino plant was able to bloom and flower? I missed that whole episode last year!

Yep and I got them crossed, now I have babies!! I'm so excited, or should I not??? I planted around 40 seeds so we wait and see. Yes you are seeing purple like the albino.

Well I take this all back, this isn't the cross. I was reading my information and these are seeds from a cross I am not going to talk about! As this isn't supposed to be done and now we know where the albino baby came from it was a seed that dropped when we gathered seeds.

These babies aren't going anywhere and will be raised here as I can't let them out of my sights. These are special!
Albino seedlings are rare and they according to some folks won't make it past the first few weeks, well here they are this morning!! Do you honestly think these aren't going to make it?? These were the last Datura seeds we planted. This year's planting of over 100 with 6 varieties and we have seen only 4 seeds sprout from the other group but these came up faster! I will try again this year to do the same cross if the conditions are available.
Thank You John for your input. The jury is still out on this one as we want to see what these will do.
