Trouble with Gerbera Daisies...

Does anyone grow Gerbera Daisies as annuals? I have had several the last three years. They will look like they are doing great, then suddenly the leaves start getting spots on them, turn yellow, then brown and then it is gone! They are in pots, well-drained...I dunno????

Could they be where water has splashed on them when watering?
