This 2 year old 5' plumeria produced this strange knob in the middle of the stem which I thought may be an inflo, but it did nothing more, then it produced 6 new branches, as seen here.
I find this rather exciting, but will it produce flowers from this knob?

It's in the conservatory. I had to put the others outside as the red spider mites were killing them. When the leaves fall off I'll bring them indoors.
