Corn Stalk Plant

Post by Muffy »

Well..a few months back I bought a corn stalk plant at Lowes for $5. Looked dead but had a bit of green on it's leaves. I brought it home...cleaned it's roots off & repotted it in new soil & it sits in my kitchen getting filtered sunlight. Well..I was gonna toss it in the garbage today...leaves are all dead but I looked and low & behold...a baby! WooHoo! I was so excited!!

So what do you have to do now? Cut the top part off?

You should be able to just cut off the old dead stalk. I had one for years and years in the house. It bloomed one time and the fragrence was amazing! Smelled like honeysuckle to me... never did it again, and when we moved I did not have good light for it inside so I tried it out side on the deck and it died :(
