2009 First Epie

We have been doing the epie watch here and yesterday she finally opened wide enough. She has several blooms and we
were surprised after last years fall. She pulled the hook out of the rafters of the shed and was a broken mess. But it
must of shock her enough!!

Oh, thought this was EPImediums, and thought, hmm, rather late!

Those flowers are gorgeous. I grow a few, but am still hoping for bloom. Any hints?

Do not fertilize with a 20-20-20 fertilizer like most folks will do. We use rain water to water and use a bloom booster fertilizer that is
half strength for just a couple feedings. This one pulled the hook out of the rafters where they normally hang during the growing season
so she is on the shelf in the greenhouse, pretty beatened up due to the splat on to the gravel below so we are surprised she decided
to bloom. She is one of our oldest and biggest cactus.
