Castor Plant
For years I have seen pictures of these plants in the seed catalog and as they are quite poisonous have shyed away from them. However this year I decided to try them and what a plant we have a slew of dogs that never gave them a look .A great background plant that makes a statement as they say.
Re: Castor Plant
The seeds are poisonous but I don't know about the rest of the plant.
I am growing a whole bunch of these this year and plan to drop the seeds in all the chipmunk holes. The little ba$tards have over-run the place since our cat population has been dropping, and their tunnels give voles shelter and access to hosta roots. Should the voles choose to sample these goodies, too, all the better!

Re: Castor Plant
I was told the plant it self ,the odor drives voles and moles away. The entire plant is poisonous but many are we have numerous dogs in the yard and they never give it a look.
