Helianthus 'Lemon Queen'

Post by Midnight Reiter Too »

I've had 'Summer Sun' but it's the wrong shade of yellow for me, so I'm getting 'Lemon Queen' this year. Does anyone have a photo to show us?

I think that 'Summer Sun' is a Heliopsis, not a Helianthus.

We sell 'Lemon Queen' too, along with Helianthus multiflorus. 'Lemon Queen' has small, pale yellow flowers held really high up on the stems. Ours were easily 7 feet tall last year but just covered with blooms.

I've seen a few seedlings in the growing areas from 'Lemon Queen', but they are easy to spot and take out. Multiflorus is sterile.

A lot of people are surprised that these plants are sunflowers that come back every year from the roots. :)

Oh, no! I thought maybe I ordered the wrong plant, Chris. But I'll wait and see how I like it.
