Hallson Gardens plant size picture

Post by Chris_W »

Hi,

We are known for selling hostas, but yes, we sell other perennials too. I finally got a picture of an order before it went out for those who haven't seen our plants before. We grow a lot of our own plants but also get plants from other growers around the world. This will give you an idea of what we send and what bare root plants look like this time of year.

In the top row we have Tanacetum c. 'Robinson's Red' (painted daisy), Geranium 'Brookside', Sedum 'Matrona', Aster d. 'Wood's Pink', and Caryopteris divaricata 'Snow Fairy'. In the bottom row is a one gallon nursery container (3 quart), then Sedum k. 'Variegatum', Penstemon 'Elfin Pink', and Iris sibirica 'Caesar's Brother'.

If you have been thinking about ordering perennials but weren't sure of what we sell, hopefully this will give you a good idea. When we start preparing more orders this weekend I'll add some more pictures :)

Thanks for the letting me sell a little ;)

Chris

Great looking plants Chris!!! :D

The only time I don't like those great root systems is when I'm digging the holes and trying to fit them in.

Thanks Andi :)

Here is a picture of it last year before blooming. There are 3 rows of them being field grown in this picture, and that isn't even the entire area.

Yes, it's helpful to see what plants will look like, especially for newbies at ordering from Hallson's. Me, I just remember what former orders have been, and rejoice! Phyllis

Chris,

I've purchased other perennials from you and they were always as impressive as your hosta. You've always been one of my favorite mail order nurseries. I'm really hoping that hubby and I can take a road trip in early summer, and visit your gardens in person.

Lynne...DO GO!! DH and I went up last year and had a very nice visit. It was so nice meeting Chris and Brian and we even got a tour of the new nursery in progress! I definitely want to make another trip up there later this year and see the completed project.
Great looking roots on all those plants, Chris! :D
