Very pretty.

I only had 3 crocus blooms this year. I think the squirrels have been snacking on them

This last clump is in with the fall blooming crocus. Occaisionally some of them bloom in the spring. Not sure why that happens, but the fall blooming crocus were here long before I ever moved here. It's possible that there are a few spring blooming ones in the same batch. Although there were never any crocus here except in this one area until a few years ago when I planted crocus in several other locations.

Thanks, Alexa!! :P

You need to have your neighbors [or you] feed the squirrels a steady diet of hard field corn on the cob like my neighbors do. I never have any problem with them bothering stuff in my gardens.

Very nice! I never really like crocus too much, probably cause I grew up with none in the yard. But finally got some a couple of years ago. And now I agree that they are the most cheerful flowers of the year b/c they are the first for me! :D
