Heuchera babies

Post by GrannyNanny »

I have five flats of heuchera plants from this year's sowing. My goal is to cover every inch of soil that is not planted with something else, in heucheras, thus foiling the weeds! Here are two -- the bushy one in back is perhaps two plants put together. I don't know for sure until I repot it, but the leaves seem to be of two different purple varieties. The one in front is my prize -- it has nearly black, and very shiny, leaves, similar to those on the cultivar "Ebony and Ivory". I've also included a closeup of one of those leaves. Phyllis

Oh my goodness Phyllis, that black one is amazing! It seems even darker than Obsidian, which is the darkest one that I have. Keep those pictures coming along please, I love seeing what you're working with :)

Here is a little seedling I found volunteered in one of my shade beds, I like the bright colors on it.
