They are lovely, Andi. So ethereal-looking in bloom. I had one rather common one, and had to toss it due to a nematode infestation. :( I think I'd better just stick with the addictions that I already have.

Ahem.... we got Silver Queen at the same time, along with a bunch of clumping bamboos :)

They are highly addictive, almost as much as hostas. Maybe there should be a warning on the labels? LOL...

Here is my rubrum a few days later in fuller bloom, this one is a common species, but just knocks my socks off :)

Rubrum is a stunning one. Like a swarm of pink bees when it blooms.

Dan Probst was at the Winterthur/Horticulture expo last year, and we picked up a few more for the collection. Waiting for them to bloom, which should be soon!

Warning labels are definitely in order. Especially for of us with borderline OCD. I can see it now:
Warning! May cause serious addiction and loss of established lawn areas. Plantaholics should avoid this genus. All licking and nude snorgling of these plants is strongly discouraged.

Now hang on a sec Mike... it was a tree that I licked, Stewartia monadelpha to be exact LOL!. And Doris made me do it!

But I agree... these Epis are just about addictive as hostas are for me. Though I don't think a warning label would help me much, I'm already in over my head :)
