At the risk of repeating myself, (but there is a lot of that going around) I'll say that you gotta lotta daffodils, Renaldo! What a nice variety, and all in bloom at the same time! I have mine in so many different microclimates that even the same variety will bloom earlier in some places than others, so the bloom period is spread out over several weeks.

I got the majority of these planted in the late fall/winter of 2002/2003 - AFTER the hostas finally got in the ground. I planted hundreds of tulips & hyacinths in Deb's memorial butterfly garden along the street/retaining wall. Then I started in on the daffodils in the hosta beds. I'd be out as late as 10 or 11pm - probly midnight some nites. I was having very bad migraines back then & the cool fresh air was the only thing that really helped. Fortunately it was a mild winter til mid-January & I think I was out just about every nite when I could be. There were a few nites where I needed to keep moving so the frost wouldn't get me, but double layers of socks, sweatpants under jeans, & a t-shirt & flannel shirt w/a hooded sweatshirt over it & I didn't fare too badly. But a bulb auger & an electric drill on a cord are essential for such an undertaking. I tried the cordless drill for a while & it just didn't have enough 'uumph' in a charge to do what I needed.

And I still had daffodils left to plant so started in on the remaining ones in mid-March when the weather got nice again. A lot of those didn't do as well. Many were a bit on the mushy side when I planted them & I'm afraid I put some in too deep. :( But that's the bed that those 'narcissa exotika' are in that are just blooming this year. And there are some late-blooming cream w/a peach throat in that bed too. They'd qualify as some of Patsue's 'pink daffodils' depending on the company selling them.

Sorry, Pia - I couldn't resist!!  :P

What a great variety! They're really beautiful. I think I'm going to have to add some more to my beds this year.
Don't you just feel "springy" when they start to bloom?

My next door neighbors are all in full bloom. Mine are up but havn't got one bloom yet. I'm not sure why hers always bloom a couple of weeks ahead of mine but it makes me jealous! :x

Is your yard more shaded than the neighbor's, Pat? That could be it.

Yes - I definitely feel like spring is here when the daffodils are in bloom!! :P

 Your planting story reminded me that I have two packages of bulbs in the back of the fridge! I think I'd better get them out and plant them today.

Too warm to plant em now, Linda!! It needs to at least be crisp cool days to plant bulbs. Course you could always bundle up & fake it.
