In bloom today... lots of fun stuff

Post by doublemom2 »

I have so much in bloom right now, and every day things look different. Foxgloves are all over the place and are gorgeous this year.

Here are some blooms from the garden today:

Astrantia 'Ruby Wedding' just keeps getting better every year, and holds blooms for weeks and weeks.

This is a dwarf goatsbeard that does great in a container on the back patio:

Two Eryngiums, first 'Sapphire Blue' and then E. alpinum. These guys do really really well here for me:

Penstemon 'Blackbird' drives the hummers crazy:

Sarracenia flava is outstanding this year at the border of the pond:

Sarracenia flowers are pretty alien-looking, don't remember this species:

A GORGEOUS unknown thalictrum, so tall that it needs to be supported by nearby plants, but the flowers are stunning:

And last but not least... a photo that was in Fine Gardening magazine a few years ago of Cerinthe major and Nicotiana langsdorfii together... love the color combo!

Thanks for letting me share my garden with you all today! :)

All of them are so very pretty! It would be a treat to see your garden all a-bloom!

Hey Andi,

When is your garden going to be in the paper? Were they willing to use some of your own pix? You probably told me but I was preoccupied with the Jap Maple trauma and have forgotten. :-?

Thanks everyone... :)

Kathy - It's in the News Tribune this saturday, I think in the Sound Living section.. They sent a photographer out the day after the reporter was here because my photos weren't high enough resolution.

Gotta find a copy! I know a famous person! And a very nice one, too.

Wow such pretty flowers!!!!!

And I love that Sarracenia flava, it looks like an odd looking Jack in the Pulpit!

Just beautiful Andi!!! Love the Penstemon and the Sarracenia. I missed this when you first posted it and Brad's post in The Garden Bench brought me searching for the eryngium pic. I received some seeds for it recently. I can't wait to get them growing.
