My perennial Hibiscis.

In the spring of 2012 I started seeds from a hibiscus that I got seeds from in a local park in 2011.Here is my first bloom.

Awesome, glad to see someone else growing these! We are starting to fill the yard with these so that now the yard is full of blooms.
I am attempting to root some of ours this year from cuttings.

That's a beautiful one! I've not tried growing them from seed. Love them, and have quite a few in the garden, but the Japanese beetles also love them and just shred them to bits. They usually manage to hang on, and this year I had some nice blooms from them because the beetles didn't hang around as long or in as many numbers this year.

I planted these this year - looks to be the same one! I am in love with them. I hope they return (with care) in my zone 5 but if not, I will repurchase each year.

It should return for you. If you are concerned about the winter, one could take a huge pot and turn it upside down to protect the area. Put a rock on top of the pot.
Got to love those perennial ones!
