begonia grandis/evansia
Heron's Pirroette self-sows for me, whether from seed or the bulbils I'm not sure. I have tried to start them from seed and the bulbils with no success. I have tried chilling, bottom heat, and light, but no go. Anyone been successful with these? - Dallas

Re: begonia grandis/evansia
Hello,
Up here in Michigan these flower so late that there isn't any time for seeds to develop. I'm not sure how it is in your zone, but if it is quite late and the nights are getting cool enough for the buds to droop then they might either not be fully pollinated or fully developed. For hostas we either bring the plants inside to finish ripening or we ripen the seeds while still on the cut flower stems in water. Sorry I don't have more experience to share with you.

We don't start our begonias here until March and we do them outside.
