My peony foliage is turning lt. green . . . what are they lacking?

gg, What is your soil type? Are they done blooming? Are they getting enough water? Have they been
to hot and dry?

my soil is kinda clay, but have amended it and added some milorganite early this spring. They are mulched, and watered occasionally. . are in full sun til about 2;00.

Is the foliage actually fading or are they getting the (common) powdery mildew turning them gray?

Peonies do like to be fertilized.

When we had ours in the front yard, we noticed that the leaves were turning white speckled. We sent off photos to some peony experts and
they told me very little effects them and they shared with others. No one could tell me what was going on. So we moved them to the back
and they are doing a lot better but we deal with bugs all the time now with no one around us taking care of their yards. I have even gone
as far as cutting the plant up under the leaves and just leaving the stalk. Remove what is being eaten or affected. I have also learned that
clay and acidy soil isn't good for all plants. A mixture of 1 tablespoon of borax to a gallon of water, mixed well and sprinkled over the plant
will help. It's a sign that the plant is not getting what it needs and the borax helps the plant out. So we tend to do a monthly spraying of the
whole yard and we have seen it does help.

Thank you for the comments. . . There is no apparent bug problem, no mildew, just the leaves turning from their dark green to a lighter green. They are healthy, mature plants, and had an abundance of flowers this spring. . .

will try the borax solution to see if that helps. . thanks
