Help!!! Broken rose tree

Post by impatience »

I came out this morning and the 6' rose tree was broken in half. The wind was up to 50 mph last night so I'm guessing the top heaviness got it.

Is there any way to plant it from here? It is a Weeping China Doll.

Advice would be very helpful-fast please.

Thank you in advance.

Oh no! :( Imp, I'm not sure what you can do. I think it is probably grafted. I'm not sure where the graft is. If you are able to replant it, will be growing on it's own roots? You could dip it in some rooting compound, replant it and hope for the best. Here is a link about propagating roses that might be helpful.

Good luck!

 It is broken along the long "stalk". It was getting pretty big at the top. It is just laying there! Ack! The top still looks ok, but then it has only been about 12 hours. ACK!
