My roses have started to bloom

Post by Tundra_Queen »

Hi
My roses have started to bloom and they seem to be a bit early this year, not that I'm complaining.

This one is Hazeldean, hardy to zone 2, very thorny, it is what I call my attack rose and only blooms once a year. It is always the first one in my garden to bloom

Gorgeous! I have to get some of those hardy to zone 2! :D

So what do you have to do to keep them overwinter Debbie?

Jane, absolutely nothing! :-)

I cut them down a bit in the spring and just fertilize them during the summer.

Very pretty Debbie! Hazeldean is a beautiful yellow. 8-) How nice that so many of your flowers are blooming early for you this year. :D

Here are some more pics of my Morden Centennial now hat it has more blooms on it. :-)

I have noticed that the leaves on some of my bushes are getting papery again like they did last year. Even though I dumped worm castings around them this spring I guess they need a shot of fertilizer, which I haven't done yet. I hope that will fix them up.
