If you had room for only one rose bush, what would it be?

and why?

I can't answer because I haven't had any success with roses yet. Mine just haven't amounted to anything.

The McCartney Rose

It is the most bomb proof, hardy, blackspot resistant, HT form, smells wonderful rose I have ever encountered. Mine is going to 4 years in the ground, is already about 5 feet tall, has 2 brand new basal breaks already this spring and will be covered with those wonderful smelly blooms in just a few weeks!

I love that one every time I see it in a catalog. I have only four roses: Cecil(spelling?) Brunner climber, Ebb Tide, Iceberg, and the one I just planted, Gene Boerner. The first three haven't done anything yet. I'm especially worried about Cecil Brunner. I think it may have reverted to root stock.

I think 'Ebb Tide' is dead. I bought 'Mr. Lincoln' now that I finally found it.

Wow! How wonderful to have had a rose for so long. I never lived in one place that long! Our oldest daughter just bought a Peace rose. I've admired them for years.

I try to add white ones to the yard but it seems these don't like me?? So we are adding more Lincolns due to the fragrance.

As the great "killer of roses bushes" I have found only one kind that I can grow, Knockout roses. I have managed to keep one alive for a whole year now, and I am getting buds again :D :D So that has to be my "favorite"

Just Joey. I can smell it across the yard! I tried to move it last year because it is getting over run by the cedar trees, but it was to thorny and there was not enough room for me to dig without getting ripped to shreds. So I need to find another one for next season.
