Fall Containers- What do you plant?

Post by nanny_56 »

I want to change mine out for fall. Would like some suggestions on mixed pots or anything that can be a stand out by it's self.

Thanks,
Claudia

I really dont, because our season gets too cold too quickly - but I do plant some fall mums.

I don't change mine either, because the summer plantings are usually still going strong. If I did, I would put in some ornamental kale or cabbage, with a tall grass, perhaps. An aster or mum to pick up on the colors in the kale. One of the prettiest fall containers I have ever seen contained a green and white kale, a Morning Light miscanthus, and some white mums. Not exactly what you think of as fall colors, but it was very striking.
