My first Hummers!

Post by pretends_to_garden »

This is the first time that I have seen any hummers in my yard! Course tho, this is the first year we have had flowers here too. I first saw him out my kitchen window visiting a hosta flower. So this morning I went out on the back patio and he was going from flower to flower on the red cypress vine!  My dad had given me some seeds so I planted them this year. So then I went and filled up the feeder.....then there were two of them fighting over it!
They are sooo neat. Here is a picture of it from the back....it was faster than me with my camera.

I never seem to catch them right and they always show up without wings! :o

Great pic for first time! :) Yes, they are a wonder to hold. Makes you sad to be saying goodbye soon to them as they make they way to warmer locations :(
