Is this bug doing? Jay called me to come look at this bug on the tree the other day.....What the heck is he doing, and what is it? I know once you say the name, I'll probably know it....DH didn't know eithe, not that he knows much.... :lol:

That beautiful little fella is a Katydid! Not sure what he's tryin' to prove by that upside down headstand...maybe has something to do with the cold weather!

Love these bugs! How closely his wings resemble leaf buds!....p :wink:

I knew it.....:lol: Katydid.....I don't know either about the upside down thingy he was doing...:lol: He never moved.

Good pic LG! I did a search to try and figure out what its upside down but I didn't find an answer! :hmm:

That's his way of "camoflage"... takes on the appearance of a leaf!!! When birds etc. are around, they POSE! Usually they do this on branches but he may have thought making the move to the branch would be his "giveaway"..

It probably is trying to camouflage itself as a leaf on your tree,They have quite a few tricks to hide from predators.But I thought these guys were mostly in the Amazon Rain Forest??
