Beautiful!!

Isn't it funny.......if a child colored a picture of ducks with those vibrant colors, we would think it unique!

Nature has a splendid paintbrush!.......p

As beautiful as the common Mallard is, it doesn't hold a candle to the second duck. The birds in the first pic are Grebes, not ducks. Beauties either way.

Great pictures.

I especially like the last one - the duck looks like it's having fun - sliding down the rock!

The first picture shows hooded mergansers.
The second is my favourite duck, a Mandarin Duck.

I have seen the damage mallards can do to a pond, and woke up with horror one morning to find a pair on my pond. Thankfully they flew off.

I love the middle one, the mandarine duck. They have always been my favourites, and I was thinking of making my garden pond home for a pair. The problem is that they nest in trees and the foxes round here would find them easy prey.

OED wrong? :o I'm sure it won't happen again. :P

 I didn't think they looked like the pics of Grebes that I found. I was trying to confirm that it was the females with those exquisite hairdos. It's nice to know what they really are. :D
