8-) I really enjoy these majestic birds and have recently indulged myself in capturing them during their daily activities. :P These were taken along the IL river.

Tonia...... Awesome pics!!!
Where at along the Illinois did you see them? I live in Pekin...We (the city of Pekin) has some kind of thing going on (have to look it up and see when).
I think the kids would be interested in looking for them.

Piere Marquette (sp) State Park is a great place for eagle watching. It's right near the confluence of the Ill and the Mississippi rivers. That's about 1/2 hour from me. We haven't had a lot of them down here because of the warm weather.

Fantastic pics, tonia!! I showed them to my DH also and he thought they were great, especially the one with the eagle soaring in the blue sky. How fortunate you are to see these wonderful creatures in nature. I , too, have only seen them in a zoo. :D

Beautiful pictures!! We havn't had a good year for Eagle watching because the river hasn't been frozen. I've been anxious to invite Peg to bring her camera and come to visit but I've not seen an Eagle since the weather go so warm!
The Mallards and Canada Geese are happy though.

Great shots!

I go to Pekin all the time. There is a place down by the river where I go to see them.

Where I work is right on the river across from E. Peoria, and I see them all the time down there. They are such great birds!!

I think there is a thing about them this weekend around Pekin somewhere. Can't remember where it was though LOL.
