Baby Robins

Post by Tracy_Zone5 »

There is a Robin's nest in our pussy willow bush. It is just above my head, but I can get the camera above it to take some pics.

Great shots! It looks like they thought you were their mama coming to feed them, LOL.

Momma was there feeding them and when I walked up she flew away, so their mouths were still open awaiting whatever goodies she had for them.

Thanks for the nice comments.

I think the wide open beaks, throats, etc is a permanent condition with most robin babies. There's a nest next to my house in the crook of a downspout just below the roofline. One afternoon I looked up. Mama was nowhere to be seen, but there were 2 'mouths' wide open waiting expectantly for her return.   If your mouth is open then your chances are a LOT better that something gets put in it. [Kinda follows the old 'he who hesitates is lost' line of thinking.]

If you would like to see more pictures of the baby robins, with the last one being out of the nest, go to my website and click on 2007 animals at http://newcenturycomputers.net/flowers

Thanks for all the nice comments. I hope you enjoy seeing these pictures as much as I have enjoyed taking them.

I love these pictures. This is probably just about the age Rocky was when he literally fell into my lap.

The pictures are fantastic!
