We have two does who have raised their fawns around our house the last year. This is one of the does with her triplets. It has been fun watching the fawns grow.

Very

Is that fairly rare to have 3 born? Man, she must have been waddling a wee bit!

Neat!! :P I see a doe around here with twins once in a great while - but never triplets.

I have often wondered about the twin/triplett thing. I know deer will have twins, but I had never heard of tripletts, although I am sure it does happen. Perhaps she adopted one of them? I just know we have seen her with these 3 fawns since last fall when they still had their spots.
There is another with twins that we see often also. Her fawns are from last spring and they are as big as she is now, but they still hang together. When do the young move off on their own?

Hi Ginger!! How cool that they are close enough for you to get pics! I've also never seen a doe with tripletts but I'm sure it happens!

I went out and googled and they do have triplettes occasionally. Poor thing :o They are so cute. I hope we see more this spring or fall.

Perhaps the fawns were both does and just stayed together for the herd factor. They will probably seperate when the next newborn arrives.
