Caterpillar ID anyone?

Post by Garden_of_Mu »

These little guys are just going to town all over the tansy ragwort(?). They seem to only eat the flowerheads and leave the foliage alone. I think they must be building up the alkaloids from the plant to make themselves unpalatable to birds later on. Any idea what butterfly this might turn into?

So THAT'S what that little red butterfly is. We were wondering. Love it. Fine, I'm leaving all the ragwort alone. Thanks!! :D
