Another quite common finch in our gardens here
The young one here has yet to colour up

Cute little guy! Love to see their changes from fledging to full body color.

So, do you know when these start nesting? Our apparently wait much later than other birds in the area as they coincide with the ripening of local thistle. It's a riot to watch all the fledgings learning how to land on feeders and sunflowers in the month of august! :lol:
