In just one part of the barn I counted fourteen nests and at least two still had occupants:

I think it is cool that their mouths and throats are so bright! Wouldn't want mama to miss! 8-)

I am in Upstate NY, Jane. I suspect that some of the swallows raise two broods in a summer.

We have alot of barn swallows (at least I think that is what they are) who build nests in the dock area of the building I work in. They are such fun to watch and when the baby's are hatched "watch out" cause Mama or Daddy will buzz you!! One time one of the employees here got tired of dodging bird dookey and knocked one of the nests down. Man did he catch heck from the rest of us :evil: I don't think he will do that again :wink:

Glad everyone got him on about it! Hate people that are so callous and uncaring. They are also :eek: scary people I think!
