I will have to see if I can get someone to take a picture of this next time, because hubby had taken the kids around the block on their bikes. I held a hummingbird feeder while sitting in a chair and one of three came up, got a drink and touched my finger. He did this several times, until he seemed comfortable enough to come up and use my finger as a perch. It was awesome to see it so up close and personal. Three of them were divebombing each other to feed even though I have 3 feeders hanging up. Try it, you'll like it!!

I have tried this a few times this year but unfortunately I have a real hard time sitting still for any length of time!!

One time while trying to get pictures a hummingbird came up to me and then stuck its beak in between my fingers while I was holding the camera. It never did get in front of the camera though

Can't eat those popsicles and not wash hands, Chris! He was looking for juice from the man in charge!

I rarely can get them without a blur!

I would have to save them from the peak of the roof in the horse barn I worked at. I had to hose them down (weigh the wings down). It was the only way we could think of to get them down. Anyway, they would come down and I'd take them outside and they would stay perched on my finger. The ones I think survived would not let me remove them. Thankfully I think more survived than didn't. They are facinating little birds, I wish we had more breeds in the east coast.

OMG!!!!!! I did it!! So cool!! Our one feeder is really busy nonstop from 7:30 to 8:30pm so I decided to give it another tonight and I got several to come. One even landed on my finger!!!! The others kept buzzing around my head and in front of me.

So glad I tried it again!!

Whohoo Claudia!! Isn't it fun? My ds tried with no results and was a little miffed. I am still going to try for a picture.

We have some of the friendliest hummers here. They will land on you shoulders and even come drink when you water. I honestly know they know where they are loved.
We grow enought different flowers here they get enough food.

no photos yet. I have been going out every evening at the same time and have gotten at least one to come on the feeder except for one night!

Tonight I had a juvie male that is not one of ours come. He hit the feeder & the flowers like he was starving. So I would say some have started to migrate. Our one male disappeared a couple of weeks ago so I think he is gone. But we have had a new one since. He is quite the bully, but a very handsome fellow. He has a very black head.

Our juvie female hardly let me sit down before she came in. I am amazed after trying for so long.... I should have paid closer attention to when the feeder is really busy sooner.
